Surya and Jyothika starred in the big Tamil hit, Kaakka Kaakka, together.
Jyothika's most recent film is the just-released Vettayadu Vilayadu, starring Kamal Haasan. She also starred opposite Rajnikant in Chandramukhi.
Apart from the Tamil Nadu chief minister, among the first to congratulate the bridal couple was Union Minister of IT and Communications, Dayanidhi Maran.
Later, AIADMK supremo Jayalalithaa also visited and blessed the couple.
