When asked why she has been keeping such a low profile these days, the actress denies she has. "I was not being low profile. My aim is to do quality work, not quantity. I have done films for some fantastic banners and have been noticed. I have proved that if I can do a Sanjay Gupta film (Musafir), I can also do a Buddhadeb Dasgupta one (Kaalpurush)."
A quiet girl, Sameera spent her early years shadowed by her flamboyant elder sisters, Meghna and Sushma -- both VJs who also doubled as actresses. Most people weren't aware of the shy Sameera until she appeared in a music video for Pankaj Udhas. The Ahista Ahista video was a rage, and Bollywood picked her up immediately.
