An epic love story

November 2, 2006
Nagabharana has take extreme care while making Kallarali Hoovagi so that there are no historical errors. “I have not only taken care in selecting the right costumes and materials but took care to see that there were no historical distortions. Though the main focus of the story is the love angle between a Hindu boy and a Muslim girl, I have not allowed historical facts to be distorted. You will get the right feel when you see this film,” said Nagabharana.

The art and costume designing is taken care of by the award-winning technician Nagini Bharaa.

Nagabharana shot the entire film in 54 days and the major part of the shooting was done in Chitradurga fort. “We have shot a few sequences in the Ramnagara fort for our convenience. The remaining 15 to 20 percent of the shooting was done on the sets erected at the Kanteerava Studios,” he said.

According to the director, music plays an important role in the film. “As in Nagamandala, I have added songs in several sequences which will certainly be a highlight of the film. Veteran composer Hamsalekha has scored the music for the film. According to Hamsalekha, composing music for Kallarali Hoovaagi was a great challenge. “I feel I have done my best work in the film and the film itself would be a milestone in my career and also that of Nagabharana and Cameraman Venu.”
