Sarfarosh (1999)

This movie was made when India-Pakistan relations were looking good. The Lahore bus service had been started and everyone felt the days of enmity were over.

But unknown director John Matthan Matthew's film, starring Aamir Khan and Sonali Bendre, was about how Islamabad talks of friendship with New Delhi but secretly promotes terrorism in India.

Many critics panned the film, saying a film like this was not the need of hour. People still flocked to the theatres and the songs composed by Jatin-Lalit were a big hit.

Three months later, the Kargil War happened. Sarfarosh proved like a prophecy.
