Now, as everyone who knows his Captain Haddock would testify, Davy Jones' Locker is the name for the watery grave drowned sailors head to. Davy Jones himself is a mythic 'sea devil,' often referred to but hardly identified as a character. Enter the Dead Man's Chest, where the inevitably hilarious Bill Nighy plays Davy, the main villain, in search of Jack's soul. A mutated man-octopus, he sports a wriggling beard of tentacles, reminiscent of the Cthulhu character from the stories of HP Lovecraft.
