Prepare for Jethro Tull

The band got its interesting moniker from an early booking agent, who suggested they name themselves after an 18th century agriculturist called Jethro Tull, credited with inventing the seed drill (it sows seeds in rows at specific depths).

The band agreed because, after using it the first time, the manager of the club they were playing at liked them and asked them to come again.
