Bringing Shakespeare back to life

Ajay Kumar plays Puck.

Like Narad Muni in Hindu mythology, Puck is the cause of all confusion in the play.

Ajay, 32, is a native of Patna and has been acting for eight years now. He has worked with Naseeruddin Shah in Mumbai, Bansi Kaul in Bhopal and Roysten Abel in Delhi.

"They are all very good," he says of the well-respected theatrical trio, "as is Tim Supple. What is great about them is that you never realise they are directing you."

Ask him about his most memorable moment on stage, and he picks Romeo and Juliet. "In this drama, there is a play within a play. Romeo and Juliet played the same part on stage."
