The traditional wedding took place in the morning, and the reception in the evening. Only those close to Prashanth's father, actor-producer Thiagarajan, attended the wedding.
Director Mani Ratnam and his wife Suhasini were present when Prashanth tied the thali (Tamil for the mangalsutra) on Grahalakshmi, as is tradition.
