"Many years ago, when I was cast in Karma as Dr Dang, the late Amrish Puri had asked Subhashji, 'Why haven't you cast me in the film?'. Subhashji replied, 'Purisaab, Karma mein Anupam aap hi ka role kar raha hai [Anupam is acting as you in the film]'

"After that, every time a Mukta film would be announced," Kher laughed, "I would ask why I am not in the film, and Subhashji would tell me that other people are acting as me in the film. But this time I said enough is enough, and told him that I'm going to be in every film you announce this year. So here I am."
