Oh my god! I suppose it's because I'm seven years older but it took a lot of effort to do all that stuff [laughs]. And because I'm a crazy Spaniard and very hot-headed, I wanted to do all my own stunts and we had to get around the insurance company. It was a mess every time I had to jump off a bridge or be on a cable hanging from a crane a hundred metres high or doing this or that, jumping out of a window and things.

But if I don't do it, I watch the movie and I feel like a fraud -- and I don't like that. I prefer to assume certain risks and I suppose when I am 80 years old -- if I get to be 80 -- I can look back and say, 'I did that!' and I'll be very happy [laughs].

Did you do all the stunts?

No, there are certain acrobatic moves I can't do. A couple of things in the beginning, where he jumps from a wall, and others, here and there, that I didn't do. But the rest, all the sword [play] and all the horse work was mine. And it was important to me that I did that.
