Is the media intrusive at times?

No. I think they are very, very responsible. We are today the kind of people because of the way the media -- apart from the fans and the success -- is portraying us. They have been very supportive of people like me, and John, who have come from nowhere. We mind our own business, and the media understands that. We are no-nonsense people, and they give us that respect -- always.

Do you think the media is nice to you because you have been this open to it?

Not just with the media, I'm an open person.

I can be wrong, but I'm honest. We've been in the gossip columns too many times. I've been linked to too many boys, he's been linked to too many girls, but it doesn't matter. We've got more serious things to discuss in life. See, people like me and John can honestly have fun, have a good time -- as in, flirt around with 10 other people -- if we're single. Who's stopping us? The fact is that we've accepted it openly, at home, in front of each other's parents. We have a very middle-class mentality, and the fact that we're admitting it to our parents is big. The world comes only after that. So when we say we're together, we are together.

What are the films coming up for you?

There's Apaharan; then John Mathew Mathan's Shikhar; Dhoom 2, Madhur Bhandarkar's Corporate; Phir Hera Pheri; and Abbas-Mastan's [still-untitled] comedy.

What's with all these sequels, like Dhoom and Hera Pheri?

[Laughs] I'm the sequel queen! I've got a new tag! I'm tired of `sex-symbol' -- there are so many sex-symbols around!
