I have done my hotel management from Bangalore University. I was a model before Akbar Khan spotted me.

I went through some books like [William Dalrymple's] White Mughals, and they helped. Soniya was a very good co-star. And she is very good looking.

We had to shoot in the desert and I had to wear heavy costumes. It was difficult.

[The film has taken long to be made, but] you need to have patience in this business if you make a film on such a grand scale. We travelled to Kashmir, Ladakh and Mumbai. I hope people will appreciate our hard work.
