Aamir was pulling me out... If the film hadn't worked, which it had full chances of because I don't like to call Lagaan a commercial film. It is an offbeat, commercial film which could have certainly swung the other way too.

I think after four, five weeks, people started looking towards me that okay, there was also Ashutosh who was part of the project. But then I got my full share of the pat on the back post Lagaan, in festivals.

So in Swades I had no point to prove. The point to prove was the theme of the film.

Even now at the box office whatever we have achieved, we have regained our monies -- the financiers, distributors, exhibitors. My phone is not ringing. No one is saying 'Mera paisa lauta do'… sab first class hain.

My first production is done. Some amount of critical acclaim has come, people have liked it. No one has completely rejected the film.

I think it's a very fortunate situation to be in. Now I am looking forward to the satellite (television) release of the film. I am gearing up for it because I want the film to be viewed.

I want to make sure that the traffic stops on that day it is screened.
