Talking about her inaugural speech, Ash says, "It was very simple. I just said one line. So did director Alexander Payne... And it was on!"

After Cannes, Ash (with her mother, Vrinda Rai, left) will leave for London to shoot her new film, Jagmohan Mundhra's Provoked.

Ash plays an abused NRI wife in the film, which is the true story of a Punjabi woman who marries an Indian man in London, only to be abused. She later goes to prison for murdering her husband.
