The film stars Eva Green (left) as Sybilla, the future queen of Jerusalem. Green was seen in the 2003 Bernardo Bertolucci film, The Dreamers.
Sybilla's brother, king Baldwin, has leprosy.
Played by Edward Norton, Baldwin is an enigmatic character who lives behind a mask. His reign is handicapped by his condition, and this effectively leaves the power in the hands of Lord Tiberius, brought to life by Jeremy Irons.
The film also stars Liam Neeson (who played Oskar Schindler in Steven Spielberg's Schindler's List) and little known Ghassan Massoud in pivotal roles.
