Some people rehearse before a shot, while I like to act spontaneously. In one shot in Daag, I had to visit an old age home. Inside, I see my father's photograph and realise he is no longer alive. I had to cry for the scene.

But before the shot, I was laughing my head off with the assistant director. Hriday looked upset. I guess he wanted me to create a sad mood and I wasn't doing that. He looked irritated and angry.

I was walking towards the photograph when I started crying. Then I broke down. I couldn't stop crying. I continued to cry when he said, 'Cut!' He came and tapped me on my head and told me the shot was over.

Hriday likes us laughing and joking on the sets, but not before a sad scene.

I wanted to prove to him that laughing just seconds before a sad shot would not affect me on screen. I could do it spontaneously, and well. If you watch the film, you'll see that my makeup has come off. The glycerin just started the tears, after that they were real. The scene is almost at the end of the film, and the audience will reach out to that scene. I am happy and satisfied with my performance.

I am very happy with people for their support. I have a lot of critics to point out my goof-ups. My career has just started, and I have a long way to go. I want people to know that they can expect a lot of good performances from me in the years to come.
