Volkswagen's most loved advertisement is back!
After a long gap, Disney is finally making another Herbie movie with Herbie: Fully Loaded, starring Lindsay Lohan.
The successful franchise of a Volkswagen Beetle (numbered the now legendary 53) began in 1968 with The Love Bug. A ton of sequels followed and finally wound up in 1981 after Herbie: The Matchmaker didn't do as well. Disney gave it another shot in 1982 with the Herbie: The Love Bug television series. This too failed.
But Herbie continues to be an all-time family favourite worldwide, and the fanciful series of films ranks high on the home video rentals chart.
In the new film, Lohan plays Maggie Payton, taking Herbie to NASCAR.
Directed by Angela Robinson, Fully Loaded also stars Michael Keaton, Matt Dillon and Cheryl Hines.
