You are not playing just an actress, but one that comes from down South to Bollywood.
(Laughs) Yeah, we've done that! I don't know, Khalidsaab just came up with this idea that we have to portray you as an actress. And then we were trying to figure out what kind of an actress -- art film, or a hot, sexy one. Finally, we hit upon a normal actress. You know, you have good days, bad days, sexy days, not-so-sexy days...
So does that make your character in the film a vanilla actress?
|
(Laughs) I don't know! I'm just being what Khalid told me to be. She knows what she wants in life. Which is Rahul, in this case. She's moody. We've taken a lot of incidents that happen in the film industry. But no, it's not a satire. It's done in a nice way. We're not making fun of anyone, or being too serious. It's just a real look at what happens in an actor's life.
There are six women in the film. That has to bring up the question of screen time. Do you all have enough?
Well, I don't know! I'm just doing what he (the director) has asked me to do. I like what I've heard. And I don't know what'll remain after the film is edited -- 10 minutes, 30 minutes or 45 minutes. The film is basically about three characters -- Riya (Sen), Tabu and me. In the lives of those three characters are the other three women. Now, I honestly don't know how much time we'll all get. But I'm doing the film because I love the concept that Khalid narrated to me.
