I loved Mr Ghai's earlier films, Taal and Pardes. I liked the story of Kisna when I heard it. And I'm a big fan of A R Rahman!
Before I signed the film, I was in awe of Mr Ghai's work and the way he creates music. But after working with him, I am in awe of him too. He is a fabulous person. He treated me like a daughter.
He knows exactly what he wants from lighting, makeup, and performances. Vivek and I used to sit with him for certain scenes. He is relentless until he is satisfied. I was pampered a lot on the sets since I was the youngest. But when it was the time to work, we had to work.
Kisna is set in 1947. I play a village girl who grows from a simple inexperienced girl to a woman. Eventually, I get married to Vivek.
My mother has done the choreography for a lot of my dance sequences. Actually, Mr Ghai has mixed and matched the choreography of both my mother and Saroj Khan.
I have not signed any other films. I am interested in all kinds of films. I am not afraid to experiment. I want to try Bengali cinema, art cinema, commercial cinema, everything!
Presently, I am in the process of finding a house in Mumbai, as I need a base here.
