There is pressure within me to accept roles. Sometimes I feel yeh kar lena tha ya woh kar lena tha (I should have done this or that). But I want to do good cinema. I want to look back after 10 years down the road and say `Wow!'

I don't want to be typecast. I don't want people to call me a sex bomb, girl next door, goody-two-shoes.

I am a performer and it's my job to be able to do whatever I am asked to do. I can look sexy and hot and, at the same time, I can look like a sati savitri. I am an actor. I will be in front of the camera tili I can stand. It's not that acting is bread and butter for me. I want to live and die here as long as I can.

I have taken a long time to decide my career. Now, this is my passion. I want to do good work.

I would love to do an item number, but only in the future, when I am in the position to help a film. Today, who is Gul Panag? Very few people know me. I will do an item number like Urmila Matodnkar did in Chamma chamma (China Gate). She had reached that stage in her career, and therefore the song appealed to audiences and helped the film.

I am hoping to get recognised in India but it will take time.
