For the remix of Lift kara de, I asked Shatrughan Sinha to feature in the climax. I am a huge fan of his, and love his style. It's been like his acting trademark, and for me, his character was the best in Kaala Patthar. He was fantastic in that movie!

I told him that I'd love to include him in my album. I started mouthing the dialogues from Kaala Patthar, and told him I wanted his trademark Khamosh in particular; it was very important for the track.

He said he was busy and wouldn't be able to do it. He's a parliamentarian, and this is understandable. I remember this was at the end of July. I told him August 15 was my birthday. He said 'Then this will be my birthday present to you, but I have one condition: you have to shoot this on your birthday!'

So we shot the song on my birthday.

Sholay is my favourite movie and Asraniji and Jagdeep saab brought the jailor and Soorma Bhopali back to life. Johnny Lever also joined us, with a take-off on Dadamoni (Ashok Kumar). It was wonderful to have these people together. We also used a lot of duplicates.
