Yet another music channel.
Yet another award function.
Yawn.
Yet MTV's awards were distinctly set apart -- they are not about fiercely debated talent, screen presence, powerful histrionics, or feather-smoothening sensibility. They are utterly and significantly blurry, revolving around a hard-to-define word leaving the channel to bask gladly in the protective cloak of sheer ambiguity:
Style.
The largest award of the evening, The Maha Style Icon 2004, went to the perpetual Rekha. Having just celebrated her 50th birthday a few days ago, the screen legend has been felicitated by the music channel for her screen charisma and her unflagging enthusiasm as she continues to span several celluloid decades with unparalleled panache.
Rekha shimmers in classically sensational white.
