Alfie

Michael Caine seems to be enjoying a second renaissance in the world of remakes, and this 1966 classic, itself based on a Bill Naughton play, now sees Jude Law stepping into his suave shoes.

Alfie is a roguish charmer, a cockney playboy who devours women, and this is the tale of justice being meted out, of consequences catching up with the slippery one.

A fabulously clever comedy, this upcoming release will take all of Law's massive throng of female support to become a commercial success, and is assured of trouble pleasing the critics who will, invariably, keep the brilliant original in mind.
