Pritish Nandy Communications' Jhankaar Beats bagged the Special Jury Award for Best Film at the Houston International Film Festival.

Directed by debutant Sujoy Ghosh, the film stars Juhi Chawla, Sanjay Suri, Rinke Khanna, Rahul Bose, Shayan Munshi and Riya Sen. The film was even screened at the film fest. Founded in 1961, the festival featured films from over 30 countries.

Jhankaar Beats was about three friends their lives, their women and their love for late composer R D Burman's music.
