Producer Boney Kapoor is well-known for remaking South Indian films in Hindi. Run is no exception. It is a remake of a Tamil blockbuster of the same name, starring Madhavan, Meera Jasmine, and Atul Kulkarni.
Most of the shooting of the Hindi version took place at the NOIDA Film City.
