Guess who is going to Cannes this year?
No, not just L'Oreal ambassadress Aishwarya Rai, but also her Taal director Subhash Ghai.
France's Cultural Minister Jean-Jacques Aillagon and Cannes Film Festival president Gilles Jacob have invited Ghai to participate in a round table conference in Cannes, southern France.
Piracy and digital broadcasting will be some of the topics of discussion at the conference.
Ghai will be in Cannes from May 12 to 18. During the festival, the filmmaker will also promote his first international venture Kisna featuring Vivek Oberoi, Om Puri, Amrish Puri, British actors Antonio Bernath, Michael Maloney, Caroline Langrishe and Polly Adams, along with Hrishita Bhatt and newcomer Isha Shravani.
Kisna is a musical love story with an adventurous backdrop of India in the 1940s. Music directors A R Rahman and Ismail Darbar with lyrics by Javed Akhtar are collaborating on the film's soundtrack.
The $6 million drama is being shot simultaneously in Hindi and English and is expected to hit the screens in November 2004.
