Pimlott also feels that nothing should really be alien to America audiences. After all, Broadway has welcomed musicals set in Argentina (Evita, also from Andrew Lloyd Webber), Fiddler On The Roof (Jewish stories set in Russia), King And I (in royal Siam) and Cabaret (in a Germany where the Nazis are rising). Not to forget Miss Saigon and Zorba The Greek.
