The World Health Organisation awarded Vivek Oberoi the World No-Tobacco Award 2004 on June 9 for his fight against the weed.

Not only has the actor -- a non-smoker -- asked his filmmakers not to make him smoke in films, he also plans to start a Children's Crusade Against Tobacco in which he will urge youngsters to stay away from the addiction.

Vivek has also appeared in an ad film against tobacco consumption. Directed by his Saathiya director Shaad Ali, his is one of three ads. The others feature Urmila Matondkar and Shashi Kapoor.

Interestingly, last year Oberoi was among the top three stars shown smoking on screen, according to a study. The top two smokers were Shah Rukh Khan and Ajay Devgan. Vivek's debut film Company required his character Chandu, a gangster, to smoke through most of the movie.
