Munnabhai's accomplice Circuit was played to perfection by Arshad Warsi. One may have expected Jayaram to play Circuit's character after seeing the great chemistry between Haasan and him in Thenali.

But it is Prabhu, an aging actor. Prabhu may not be as young or agile as Warsi but he has excellent comic timing and had vibed extremely well with Haasan in their only film together, Vetri Vizha, several years ago.

All of Haasan's films, whether serious films or comedies, were bumper hits in Telugu. Vasool Raja MBBS will also have a Telugu version, directed by Saran. In the Telugu version, Telugu star Srikanth plays Circuit. And the lead role, by Chiranjeevi. The film is directed by Jayant.

National-Award winning actor Prakash Raj will play Boman Irani's role as the dean of the medical college in the Tamil version.

The team is still on the lookout for a senior actor who will play Haasan's father. In Hindi, Sunil Dutt played Sanjay Dutt's reel father. Rumour is that Kamal Haasan is attempting to persuade K Balachander to step in.
