Solicit her views on prostitution and Neha doesn't hold back. Prostitution, she believes, is not something that anyone would take up as a profession intentionally. Circumstances lead one to become a prostitute.

"I am sure at some level they have a very difficult life," she says. "I hope it can be eradicated to a very great extent. The only way we can have welfare for prostitutes is by eradicating it. By that I don't mean we should take their profession away. It is just something which should be put an end to."

Neha made her Bollywood debut in 2003 with Harry Baweja's Qayamat opposite Ajay Devgan.

The actress says she deliberately kept a year's gap between Qayamat and Julie. "I didn't want any other film coming in the way. Julie is very close to my heart. I have worked really hard for it. I would like to bear the responsibility on my shoulders. I hope I can live up to it."
