Lara won the Miss Universe crown the same year that Priyanka became Miss World.

The two of them also appeared in their first full-fledged Hindi film roles in Andaaz as two vertices of a love triangle involving Akshay Kumar. The movie was a runaway hit.

Priyanka once said that Lara and she even attend Kathak classes together!
