Dil Chahta Hai

Javed Akhtar captured the sensitivity and sensibility of Generation X superbly for son Farhan’s debut film, Dil Chahta Hai.

Be it the youthful attitude of Koi kahe, the feeling of holding on to the wonder years in Dil chahta hai or the teasing jugalbandi of Jaane kyun.

But heartbreak and loneliness were most hard-hitting in Tanhayee. As an aside, he also wrote the dialogues and lyrics for former wife Honey Irani’s directorial debut, Armaan.
