With Lagaan, Javed Akhtar reunited with A R Rahman, the composer of Sapnay, Jeans and Zubeidaa, for which he was song writer.

His work in Lagaan was a mix of aesthetics and ethnicity. Even though his songs spoke a rustic lingo, the flavour was quintessential Javed Akhtar.

Lagaan was all about the triumph of spirit. And Javedsaab lyrics in O mitwa and Baar baar bucked up that very spirit.
