Parthipan loves making experimental films. His award-winning film Housefull was one such venture. Kudakkul Mazhai can't be placed in Housefull's league.

The director, producer and actor's intentions were good but he faltered along the way. The story of an autorickshaw driver being used by a television anchor for a reality show is in a way pathetic; the man never doubts the woman's intentions and falls for her charms.

The film did not fully live up to expectations. Kudakkul Mazhai satisfied neither the masses nor the critics.
