The screening of the most-awaited film of the year was attended by among others Shah Rukh Khan and wife Gauri, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Naseeruddin Shah, Rajesh Khanna, Karan Johar, Anil Sharma, Rajkumar Hirani, Suzanne Khan, Javed Akhtar, Kuku Kohli, Govind Nihalani, Manmohan Shetty, Jabbar Patel, Saeed Mirza, Madhur Bhandarkar, Rajpal Yadav, Ken Ghosh, and many other Bollywood personalities.
From the television world, Mandira Bedi with husband Raj Kaushal, Ali Hasan (Aryan in Ekta Kapoor's Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki) and Ravee Gupta (Smriti Irani's former bahu in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi) graced the occasion.
Show business was vocal in its support for the Oscar-nominated Ashutosh Gowariker. Rajkumar Hirani, who directed Munnabhai MBBS, told rediff.com, "I love the kind of cinema Ashutosh believes in. He is not following the herd mentality which prevails in our industry. It requires guts and conviction to make such sincere films. I love this man!"
