Revathy's directorial debut Mitr: My Friend shows audiences how well she can handle a sensitive subject. The film was the story of a neglected housewife (Shobhana) living in a foreign country.
Shobhana bagged the National Award for her performance.
With Phir Milenge, Revathy moves onto a more serious subject, AIDS. Her film, which has traces of Hollywood's Philadelphia (Tom Hanks, Denzel Washington, Antonio Banderas), has won favour with the United Nations and World Health Organisation.
Phir Milenge releases August 27.
In the picture: Revathy walks the ramp with a young friend.
