Director Sanjay Gadhvi's [seen wearing a white cap] earlier release, Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai was plotted on the lines of the Hollywood film, My Best Friend's Wedding.

It starred Bipasha Basu, Uday Chopra, Jimmy Shergil and Sanjana (aka Tulip Joshi) but did not fare too well at the box-office.

Gadhvi had earlier assisted the late Anant Balani in Patthar Ke Phool (in which Raveena Tandon debuted as an actress).

Dhoom will release on August 27.
