This surely must have been on A R Rahman’s mind who stood in a corner of the sprawling Broadway theatre after the show. He was hardly recognised despite a long story on him in Time magazine, and several stories in influential publications as The New York Times.

“You have made history, haven’t you?” a fan asked Rahman.

“It is all part of a journey that began in Chennai over a decade ago,” he said. “Each leg of the journey has been mysterious and fulfilling.”
