What's the deal: Witness the biggest battle between the Trojans and the Mycenaean Greeks fought in the name of love in the three-hour screen adaptation of Homer's epic poem, The Iliad. What happens is, the Prince of Troy, Paris (Bloom), steals Helen (Kruger) from her husband, King Menelaus (Gleeson) and his brother Agamemnon (Cox). Menelaus and Agamemnon call upon Greece's greatest warrior, Achilles (Pitt), to take on Troy.

Making Troy turned out to be a trying experience for its charismatic star Brad Pitt. Coincidentally, the actor tore his Achilles tendon while shooting. He also had to quit smoking in keeping with the excruciating bodybuilding routine.

So what do we have here? Another Ben-Hur? At a mind-boggling budget of $200 million, Troy is German filmmaker Wolfgang Peterson's best bet at the box office.
