What's the deal: A couple (Kinnear and Romijn-Stamos) lose their eight-year-old son in an accident. The husband and wife cannot refuse when a doctor offers to clone their son at his fertility clinic. A plot thickened with nightmarish intrigue unfolds.

Unhappy with the original climax, director Nick Hamm shot five alternative endings for his psychological horror flick.

Also, the promotional strategy of setting up a phony website, godsendinstitute.org, received flak from gullible readers who believed it to be true.
