Kunal Kohli's [right] directorial debut Mujhse Dosti Karoge, starring Hrithik Roshan, Rani Mukerji, and Kareena Kapoor, bombed at the box office.

Hum Tum is his second attempt at directing a movie.

Before becoming a film director, Kohli directed quite a few music videos, including the popular Mera laung gawacha with Jas Arora and Deepti Bhatnagar.
