She is one person I have learnt a lot from. She puts in so much homework in her look and clothes.

Photosessions inspire her. She probably enjoys them better than films. She tries all her looks at photosessions before trying them in films. She picks out interesting outfits and references, and uses them in her photosessions. She is a very interesting person to know.

I was relatively new when I first shot with her. I learnt how photosessions should be styled from her. If she had seen an interesting television ad or a certain prop, she would use it in her pictures.

My first photosession with her was in Ooty [now Udhagamandalam], in 1994. Then, for two years, she was off the press. When she came back, we did loads of pictures. We did only outdoors because I didn’t have a studio then. So we would go to Simla, Goa and Madh Island.

I have tons of her pictures. If I shoot 50 rolls for a star, for Pooja I shoot 400! I used to do at least 12 rolls per day with her.

I shot two of her films, Jism and Paap. She styled the films the way we style shoots. She used a lot of things she had picked up over the years.

We share the same wavelength, so I knew the look of her films would be unique, not like a regular Hindi film.
