After Gaja Gamini what prompted you to make another movie? And how is this movie different from Gaja Gamini?

M F Husain: See at this point of time, I want to leave my mark on history. I have done everything I had to do. Now it is my time to explore how far my imagination will go.

Like my 100 feet painting, there will be no one who can buy it. But that is no reason for me not to paint it. I will paint it if I want to.

Owais: Gaja Gamini was like a two-dimensional film. The lighting and everything was the same. It was shot entirely indoors and had neither a beginning nor an end.

Meenaxi, on the other hand, has a finite storyline. The movie moves from place to place. We left the ending open to interpretation. We have tried to bring poetry on celluloid through Meenaxi.
