Asha Bhosle's range allowed her to sing for heroines and vamps alike. Some of Hindi cinema's most memorable dance numbers have been backed by Asha's supple voice.

Apart from singing for Bollywood's accomplished dancers, she has also delivered hits with actresses who were not famous for their dancing skills.

Sadhana, Nutan and Tanuja, never famous for their dancing prowess, had hits like Jhumka gira re (Mera Saaya), Nigaahen milane ko (Dil Hi To Hai) and the mischievous Raat akeli hai (Jewel Thief) immortalised by Asha's voice.

Proficient dancers Waheeda Rahman, Aruna Irani and Aishwarya Rai also had their share of classic numbers like Paan khaye saiyyan hamaro (Teesri Kasam), Goriya kahan tera des re (Caravan) and Kahin aag lage (Taal).

The list is long, the heroines many, but here are five heroines who have danced prolifically to hit songs rendered by Asha Bhosle.
