Winona Ryder

Named for the town of Winona in Minnesota, Ryder was an instant hit in Hollywood with her elfin features, gentle demeanour, and natural acting. She was noticed in Lucas, Welcome Home, Roxy Carmichael, Edward Scissorhands and Mermaids.

Her work in Reality Bites, Age of Innocence, Dracula, Little Women, The Crucible and Girl Interrupted brought her critical acclaim as well.

She dated Johnny Depp and Matt Damon briefly. Ryder, however, has been making news for the wrong reasons after she was accused of shoplifting $5,500 worth of designer clothing and accessories from Saks Fifth Avenue in Beverly Hills.
