Dhoop is the real life story of Kargil hero Captain Anuj Nayyar of the 17 Jat Regiment. He was killed in the southwest sector of Tiger Hill on July 5, 1999.

Director Ashwini Chaudhury [extreme right] was once chief assistant to Prakash Jha, who recently made the critically acclaimed Gangaajal.

Chaudhury is also a National Award winner for his Haryanvi film, Laado, in 2000.
