After playing author-backed roles in Subhash Ghai’s Taal and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Devdas, Ash moves on to greener pastures with her first English film, Bride and Prejudice.

Directed by UK-based Gurinder Chadha, who was also at the helm of the international hit, Bend It Like Beckham, Bride and Prejudice is a Bollywood ishtyle musical adaptation of Jane Austen’s widely read Pride and Prejudice. Ash plays the prejudiced Elizabeth Bennett up against the rather proud Mr Darcy.
