Kalyug (1980)

During the years 1978-81, Rekha peaked as an actress. She had an unbroken string of successes like Khoobsurat, Judaai, Maang Bharo Sajna, Ek Hi Bhool, Saajan Ki Saheli and Basera.

Shyam Benegal's critically acclaimed Kalyug was nothing but a modern day Mahabharata. The story revolved around two rival cousins and their families. The family soon gets separated after they have conflicts about their joint business. The film did not do well commercially.

Rekha's beauty secret is simply a nutritious diet, lots of water and exercise. The actress, who does her own make-up, was the first to introduce the concept of oily make-up when other actresses were into the dry, talcum look.
