Inspired from the Julia Roberts-Cameron Diaz-Dermot Mulroney-Rupert Everett romantic comedy My Best Friend's Wedding, Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai has been written and directed by Sanjay Gadhvi.

Gadhvi made his debut in Tere Liye with an all-new star cast.

As an aside, filmmaker Karan Johar (also a close friend of the Chopras, Yash and Aditya), has designed Uday Chopra’s clothes himself. One may recall he designed Amitabh Bachchan’s wardrobe in Mohabbatein, too.
