Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai [My Best Friend's Wedding]

Someone called Sanjay Gadhvi thought he could copy Yash Chopra's style and manufacture a hit. So he chose the Julia Roberts-Cameron Diaz starrer My Best Friend's Wedding and married it with the wedding video format that most Hindi filmmakers believe is a ticket to success.

Uday Chopra steps into Julia Roberts' shoes and discovers that he is in love with his best friend (newcomer Sanjana), who is about to get married to someone else (Jimmy Shergill). How he tries to break this alliance forms the rest of the film. Made on a modest budget, the film did much better than expected.

Bipasha Basu said, 'I would have loved to play Julia Roberts role but Uday plays her role. I play Rupert Everett's role. But my character isn't lesbian.'
